/etc/default/bind9에 named 시작 옵션을 지정할 수 있다. 아래는 named의 사용자를 bind로 지정한 예제이다.

# cat /etc/default/bind9
OPTIONS="-u bind"

chroot'ed를 사용한다면 다음과 같은 설정을 사용 할 수 있겠다.
# cat /etc/default/bind9
OPTIONS="-t /var/cached/chroot -u bind"

named.conf.local과 named.conf.options에 사용자가 필요한 zone과 옵션을 지정해서 사용한다.

named.conf에 지정된 bind9의 작업디렉토리. Debian bind9 배포본은 /var/cache/bind 디렉토리가 워킹 디렉토리이다. 즉 사용자 zone파일을 이곳에 작성해서 관리한다. name가 사용하는 작업 디렉토리, 사용자의 zone이나 secondary zone이 위치할 수 있다.
